So Friday morning we were waiting at our bus stop at 3:30... It turns out that the bus didn't come until 4:20, and we thought it was at 3:40. Anyway, it was an early morning. These are most of the guys on the trip. This weekend we went to the Bavarian Alps.
While we were waiting for the bus, Patrick planked in the middle of the street. haha.
The little town we are staying in. Our train left at 5:00am and then we finally arrived at our destination at 1:30pm on Friday.
And our hotel.
When we finally got checked in, we went walking around. I've never seen anything so pretty! Most of these pictures probably won't have captions, because the pictures really speak for themselves I think.
It would be so awesome to leave here. The houses are so cute, and I love all the flowers.
There are a lot of random crosses like this around....
Eventually it started to rain. It rained all day Friday morning and then it stopped later in the day. That seems the be the trend, because that's what it did Saturday too. A boy told us it usually only rains once or twice a week, but this week it had everyday. Somehow I don't mind being outside in the rain here as much I do in Texas.
Just some cattle being herded through town..
We walked from our little village to the downtown area where we rented some bikes for pretty cheap. That was the best thing we did, although I'm pretty sore now. We were able to go around on trails and get to and from the town a lot quicker.
After we rented our bikes we went to eat at this little restaurant. Figured it was about as German as it gets. I ordered a Jagershnitzel, and of course it was delicious. I packed some bread, peanut butter and jelly and I've been eating that the rest of the meals. The hotel serves an awesome breakfast. I'm already excited about Sunday morning.
After dinner we went on the mountain trails.
At one point I heard Patrick say, "I'm gonna eat this." Everyone turned around to see what he had, and it was a snail. I uploaded a video to Facebook if you want to check it out. It was so gross. He actually did bite its head off and he tried but he spit it out. Unbelievable.
At one point we all took turns biking down this hill. When it was my turn, I went....and it was going fine. But then I hit a rut and then some gravel. And my bike slide to the left and I flew off. Got a gash in the elbow and scraped on the side but I feel fine...nothing major.
Yucky.
There were slugs all over the road. We tried to get Pat to eat this one....gross.
There were some cows herding, and they actually wear cow bells. You can hear them from a ways off. "More cow bell."
GW went and petted them. He'll do anything. Surprisingly they didn't really shy away.
We biked about 12 miles I think that day and even crossed the border into Austria! This is the view once we got there. After that we rode back. I smelled like swamp. I showered and went right to bed. This has been the best trip for sure...way better than Rome.
